Top notch concealers from the girl who knows....
![]() Make-up tips for brides and everyday beauty. Im a big fan of concealer. In fact you could say that I L.O.V.E it. Truly. Blessed with genes that create blue-green hues under the eyes even after 12hours of sleep and a meat free/gluten free/alcohol free diet that would put a Himalayan monk to shame, a good under eye concealer is a staple for me. And I've tried them all. Nothing makes a hangover or a premenstrual break-out (or break-up) more bearable than a little dab of YSL or Bobbi Brown! I have solved many a meltdown on wedding days with swift stroke of my make-up brush, and some clever blending with the right concealer. So what makes a good concealer? All make-up artists have their favourites but I think it all comes down to what you want to cover. Put simply, around the eyes you want good coverage along with sufficient moisture to avoid accentuating laugh lines. Peachey tones are essential in this area to neutralise discolouration. Favourites are YSL Touche Eclat and Bobbi Brown under eye correctors. Pressing and dabbing these babies around the eyes until they melt away is the key to an invisible finish. Then we have blemish concealers. Some how zits always pop up on your wedding day, or before a special occasion! The key here is smooth skin (so pre-exfoliate!), good coverage and a matte finish (shiny bumps catch the light). My favourite here is the Kryolan concealer palette. 16 matte full coverage concealers in one palette that you can mix to match your skin tone all year round! Bobbi Brown is the best option for those who dont feel confident mixing colours. Just pop the lid, dab, press, blend and conquer ladies! |
