Beautiful bronzing all year round

Make-up tips for brides and everyday beauty.

Fake tan is nothing new. In fact, sometimes I wish it was a little less prevalent. Sydney in particular seems to swamped by beautiful girls who have that unmistakeable orange hue. And believe me ladies, not even the guys are duped by this one. Personally I think beauty enhancements should remain mysteriously unoticable to the opposite sex; they know you look better, they're just not sure why....

So in the interest of  'je ne sas quoi beauté' for your wedding here are some tips on the perfect bronzers.

A huge part of the problem is the bronzer to begin with.  If it has even a tinge of orange you have no hope! NONE. No one tans with a tinge of orange, and if they do they may want to look at their diet! To make life simple here are my top pics for natural bronzers.

Becca powder bronzer in 'Duende' - Matte and not a hint of orange, and  with the slightest tinge of shimmer for a healthy glow.

Benefit 'Hoola' - This was a staple of mine for many years. It is the perfect colour and its packaging leaves it less vunerable to breakage.

③ St. Tropez has added powdered bronzers to its range. These are just as fantastique as their synonymous spray tan!

There may be others out there, but these are the fail safe ones in my experience.

The next step is application. As with a lot of make-up mysteries, a lot of the mystery is solved with the right brush! You must, must, must have a short handled big fluffy brush.

Once you have your brush, you need to be sure not overload it with powder.

①Press and sweep the brush across the bronzing powder a few times, and then tap the excess on the back of your hand.

②Gently sweep the brush over your face, and blend, blend, blend. You want to start with a light film of colour that you can build on.

③Blend the colour down your neck so that you dont even up with a tanned face, and white decollétage.

④ Once you have the desired tone, you can add a little extra to the places that the sun would naturally hit, temples, cheek bones and hairline.

⑤ Finishing off with a beautiful blush always enhances your tan, and gives you a healthy glow. I love Becca cream blush in 'rosebud'.
